Pilates isn't about how hard you push it's about how precisely you move. Build core strength, better posture and lasting stability, one controlled movement at a time.
Your back, shoulders or hips regularly feel tense or unsupported.
You want to improve your core strength without high-impact exercise.
You feel stiff after sitting or remaining in one position for too long.
You would like to improve your balance, posture or coordination.
You want to become more aware of how your body moves.
You would like movement that requires both physical and mental focus.
Pilates is a system of controlled, precise exercises that build strength especially through the deep core, hips and spine while improving flexibility, posture and body awareness along the way. It's not about how much weight you can move, but how well you can control it.Think of it like reinforcing the foundation of a house rather than just patching the cracks in the walls. You can keep treating the symptoms the tight hip, the aching lower back, the slouched posture or you can strengthen the structure holding everything up, so those problems stop reappearing in the first place.
Pilates strengthens the deep abdominal, back, hip and pelvicmuscles that support the spine.
You learn to have greater awareness of how you sit, stand and move and recognise unhelpful postural habits.
Controlled movements strengthen the muscles involved in balance, coordination and stability.
Pilates combines strength with controlled stretching, helping joints move more freely.
This can build a clearer connection between what your body isdoing and how it feels.
Maintaining strength, mobility and balance can make it easierto remain active and independent as we grow older.

Your instructor assesses your posture, alignment and core strength to build a plan around your body, not a generic routine.
Sessions build strength, control and stability step by step, paced to your ability and progressed as you're ready.
The strength and awareness you build on the mat carries into how you move, sit and stand every day.
Pilates can often be adapted, but it may not be suitable for every person or physicalcondition.Certain spinal curves, injuries, joint problems, osteoporosis, recent surgery or persistent paincan make some movements uncomfortable or inappropriate. Exercise should never beforced through pain. This does not mean that movement is out of reach. A different approach, such as gentleyoga, restorative yoga, chair yoga or personalised breath-led movement, like Qi Gong, maysuit your body better. These practices vary considerably and should be chosen and adapted with equal care.During your consultation, we can discuss your needs and help you explore an appropriatestarting point. Where symptoms require clinical assessment, we may recommend speakingwith your doctor or physiotherapist before beginning.
